Second Paddle

Ray got the 2nd paddle ready on Thursday, unfortuntely there wasn't time to test it out.  We will hook it up on Tuesday and try it out.  We're expecting that, although the isolated particle detection events are smaller than before (due to the thinner scintillator), when a dense shower comes through, the pulses should be larger, since the volume of the paddles is (I think) larger than our cylindrical test PMTs.  Also, the number of coincidences should be larger, since the larger area of the paddles means that a lower shower particle density is required to hit both detectors.  We've already seen a larger rate of single-particle events with the one paddle (although the pulses are smaller).
